STEPHEN E. FABIAN, 95, of Oneida, NY died Tuesday, May 6, 2025 at Abraham House in Rome, NY.
Born in Garfield, New Jersey, Mr. Fabian resided there and then in Wayne for 46 years before recently moving to Oneida, NY.
Mr. Fabian was a self-employed professional artist and a recipient of the World Fantasy Award for Life Achievement in 2006. He was a two-time nominee for the Hugo Award for Best Fan Artist (1970 and 1971), and a seven-time nominee for the Hugo Award for Best Professional Artist (1975–1981)
Mr. Fabian also proudly served in the United States Air Force from 1949 to 1952.
Mr. Fabian was predeceased by his wife, the former Dorothy Hriczov on May 15, 2021; his son, Andrew L. Fabian, on Oct. 31, 2018 and by his parents, Andrew and Anna Fabian and his two sisters, Marge Brizek and Helen Tokar
Survivors include: his son, Stephen Fabian and his wife, Deborah of North Carolina; his brother, John Fabian and his wife Joyce; his nieces and nephews, Daria, Allison, Steven Brizek and his wife, Ida, Joann Laterra and her husband, Louis, Edward Tokar and his wife Fran and Patricia Kestin.
Visitation will be on Friday, May 16, 2025 from 9:30 am- 10:30 am at Bizub-Quinlan Funeral Home, 515 Lexington Ave., Clifton followed by a 10:30 am funeral service. Interment to follow at East Ridgelawn Cem., Clifton. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in memory of Andrew L. Fabian to Clifton Adult Opportunity Center, 900 Clifton Ave., Clifton, NJ 07013.
