STANISLAWA (nee Cuprys) GURDAK, 98, of CLIFFSIDE PARK, formerly of Vero Beach, Fla. died Saturday, January 16, 2021 at Hudsonview Care and Rehabilitation Center in North Bergen, NJ.
Born in Poland, Mrs. Gurdak came to the United States in 1955 settling in the Passaic- Clifton area. During WWII she lived in Uganda, Africa following the General Anders evacuation of soldiers and their families from Russia, eventually reuniting with her husband in England. She had been the lead vocalist with Ed Mandziuk Echo Band during her younger years and was quite popular in the Polish Peoples Homes in North Jersey.
She was a parishioner of St. Joseph Parish, Passaic, NJ and St. Matthew’s RC Church in Ridgefield, NJ.
Mrs. Gurdak was predeceased by her husband, John Gurdak in 1990 and by her brother, Bruce Cuprys.
Survivors include her three children, George P. Gurdak and his wife, Madeline of Cliffside Park, NJ, John A. Gurdak and his wife, Maryann of Frelinghuysen, NJ and Terri Kabachnick of Madeira Beach, FL and her three grandsons, Anthony, Frank and Peter Gurdak. Also surviving are her two granddaughters-in-law MariaChristina Gigante and Jacqueline Melendez.
Visitation will be from 9-10 AM on Wednesday, June 20, 2021 at Bizub-Quinlan Funeral Home, 515 Lexington Ave., Clifton followed by a 10:30 AM Mass at Sacred Heart RC Church, Cor of Randolph and Clifton Aves., Clifton. Interment to follow at Our Lady of Czestochowa Cemetery, Doylestown, Pa. Memorial Contributions may be made to St. Peter’s Preparatory School, 144 Grand St., Jersey City, NJ 07302.
