Rosemarie L. Kowal

ROSEMARIE L. (nee Carr) KOWAL, 97, of Wallington, formerly of Clifton, died Saturday, October 19, 2024.

Born in Passaic, Mrs. Kowal resided in Clifton for most of her life before moving to Wallington fifteen years ago. After graduating from Clifton High School, she began her professional career as a bank teller at the former Peoples Bank of Passaic. She later moved on to and ultimately retired from Clifton Savings & Loan Assn. in the Lakeview Section of Clifton where she worked for many years.

Mrs. Kowal was a former parishioner of St. Brendan’s RC Church, Clifton.

She was predeceased by her husband, Joseph Kowal, in 2006; by her parents, Francis J. and Rose (nee Di Canio) Carr as well as her brother Frank Carr.

She is survived by her daughter, Nancy A. Kowal and her son-in-law, Melvin Slappy of Wallington; her loving niece, Carol Algieri and her husband, Joe; her nephew, Marc Esposito and several cousins, nieces and nephews; her dear friend, Andrea Grabowski. Special thanks to her loving care giver, Jackie and immense gratitude for the support of Marian and Pastor Debbie of the Wallington Presbyterian Church and the support of neighbors and the Amedisys Hospice Support Team.

Visitation will be on Friday, October 25, 2024 from 7-9 pm at Bizub-Quinlan Funeral Home, 515 Lexington Ave., Clifton with a Funeral Service at 8:00 pm with Pastor Debra Gargiulo of Wallington Presbyterian Church. Committal Services will be private. In lieu of flowers, please consider a contribution to St .
