Robert A. Weisz

Robert A. Weisz, 81, of Clifton passed away peacefully on Thursday February 8th, 2024.

Robert was born on May 28, 1942 in Passaic, New Jersey. Except for many childhood summers spent at his parents’ bungalow at the Jersey Shore, he grew up and lived his entire life in Clifton, New Jersey. Robert had an entrepreneurial spirit and owned several businesses throughout his life including a painting business, a vending machine company, and an ice cream parlor. Bob was a lover of many things. You could find him fishing on the beach and tanning in the sun, but never swimming in the cold ocean water. When the family was attending a doggie adoption event, Bob repeated that “they were not getting a dog today, only looking!” However, it was Bob that signed the adoption papers for their beloved furry friend, Sebastian. And of course, no amount of chocolate, donuts, or vanilla milkshakes from Hot Grill could ever pacify his sweet tooth. 

Robert is survived by his loving wife Lorraine (nee Zelitsky) Weisz, who he met in 1973 in Paterson, New Jersey and married on February 16, 1980, and was preparing to celebrate their 44th wedding anniversary this month; his son Albert Weisz and his wife Carolyn, along with their daughter Samantha, as well as his daughter Anna (Weisz) Rojek and her husband Mateusz, with their dog Charlie and cat Mac. Robert is predeceased by his parents Andrew and Florence Weisz.  

He is also survived by three children from his first marriage, six grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren. They include his son Scott Weisz, daughter Debra Campanello, son Todd Weisz and his wife Kim, and grandchildren Robert, Kelly, William, James, William, and Richard. He is also survived by his sister Donna Wunder and her husband Bill. 

Visiting will be Wednesday from 3-7pm at Bizub-Quinlan Funeral Home, 515 Lexington Avenue, Clifton. Funeral Thursday 9:15am from the funeral home and 10:00am at St. Cyril & Methodius RC Church, 218 Ackerman Avenue, Clifton. Private cremation to follow. In lieu of flowers and in honor of his generous nature, memorial contributions in memory of Bob may be made to Eleventh Hour Rescue, where he adopted their cherished Sebatian.
