PHYLLIS P. BIVALETZ, 94, of Clifton passed away Wednesday, April 23, 2025.
Born in West Paterson, she married Edward J. Bivaletz in 1946 when he returned from World War II, and together they bought a home in Clifton in 1948, where she has lived since. She retired as a secretary for Mandees/ Annie Sez, formerly of Totowa.
She was a parishioner of St. Brendan’s RC Church where she was a member of the Rosary Society. In 2005, she was fortunate enough to travel to Rome with a group from St. Brendan’s and had an audience with Pope Benedict. Additionally, she was a member of the Clifton Republican Club and was active in the PTA of School #11 in the 1960’s and 70’s.
Mrs. Bivaletz was predeceased by her husband, Edward J., in 1975 and by her parents, Stanley and Mary Lazicki.
Survivors include her three children, Steven and his wife, Barbara of Clifton; Raymond E. of North Carolina and Eileen DiGiovanni and her husband, Franklin of Hibernia, NJ; her sister, Stella Mingione of Woodland Park; her brother Stanley Lazicki of N.C. Her eight grandchildren and spouses Steven and Susan Bivaletz, Theresa and Nolan Bivaletz, Edward and Casey Bivaletz, Mark and Lucinda Di Giovanni, Allison Viscardi, Frankie and Lisa Di Giovanni, Tami Bivaletz, Jaclyn and Marc Tyson and 18 great grandchildren and one great great grandchild.
Visitation will be from 2-6 pm on Sunday at Bizub-Quinlan Funeral Home, 515 Lexington Avenue, Clifton. Funeral will be 11:00 am Monday at the funeral home followed by burial at Calvary Cemetery, Paterson.
