Margaret (Lejawa) Potoczak

MARGARET (nee Lejawa) POTOCZAK, 78, of PASSAIC died Tuesday at St. Mary’s General Hospital, Passaic NJ, SURROUNDED BY HER FAMILY.

Born in Frydman, Poland, Mrs. Potoczak came to the United States in December of 1968 and has resided in Passaic since 1973. She was a hard worker for her entire life providing for her family as a young widow with five children.

She was a parishioner of Ss. Cyril & Methodius RC Church in Clifton where she was a member of the Holy Rosary Society as prayer was an important part of her life. Mrs. Potoczak enjoyed gardening, walking around the neighborhood and picking up her granddaughter Marisa from school. It was then that she and Marisa would bond over their favorite TV shows and playing card games like Skip-Bo.

Mrs. Potoczak was predeceased by her husband, Antoni, in 1993 and by her parents, Joseph and Anna Lejawa.

Survivors include: her children, Barbara Potoczak of Passaic, Teresa Potoczak (Randy Krol) of West Milford, Henry Potoczak of Passaic, Monica Potoczak of Passaic, and Elizabeth Potoczak of Clifton; her sister, Irena Niemiec of Poland; her two grandchildren, Jonathan Potoczak and his wife, Allison, and Marisa Potoczak and her great granddaughter, Kingsley. And many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.  Mrs. Potoczak will be dearly missed by all those who love her.

Visitation will be from 2-6 pm on Sunday 5/4/25 at Bizub-Quinlan Funeral Home, 515 Lexington Avenue, Clifton. Funeral will be on Monday, May 5, 2025 at  10:00 am at Ss. Cyril & Methodius RC Church, 280 Ackerman Ave., Clifton (Please meet at Church.) Interment to follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Saddle Brook. A Repast will follow at Que Pasta Restaurant located at 326 Market Street, Saddle Brook, NJ 07663, In lieu of flowers, please consider the "Planting a Tree" option on the funeral home website.
