HELEN S. KURUC, 92, of Garfield died Monday, June 10, 2024.

Born in Garfield, NJ, Ms. Kuruc was a lifelong resident. She retired as a Professor and Dean at Essex County College of Newark where she enjoyed a lengthy career. She received her BA from the College of St. Elizabeth and her MA in Mathematics from the University of Notre Dame in South Bend, Indiana and was a parishioner of St. Mary’s RC Church, Passaic.

She was predeceased by her parents, Alois and Mary (nee Tynus) Kuruc and her sister, Mary Kuruc.

Survivors include her cousins, Dorene Veliky of Paramus and Keith Balasa of Maywood.

A visitation will be held from 4-8 pm on Thursday at Bizub-Quinlan Funeral Home, 515 Lexington Avenue, Clifton. Funeral will be10:00 am Friday at St. Mary’s RC Church, 63 Monroe St., Passaic.
