CHRISTA R. (nee Loeffler) POLEDNIK, 85, of Clifton passed away peacefully on Friday, April 9, 2021.
Born in Germany, Christa came to the USA as a young bride, settling in the Passaic-Clifton area where she lived for the last 55 years. Christa was a devout and active parishioner of St. Brendan’s RC Church, Clifton. Christa was a quiet behind-the-scenes (yet fierce) cheerleader and supportive advocate for her whole family and those she loved—a wind beneath their wings. She was also a very gifted gardener that could coax flowers into bloom and cuttings to grow roots simply by looking at them and loved all things “nature”.
Christa was predeceased by her husband, Dieter K. Polednik, (January 2019), her parents (Adolf and Maria (nee Stephan) Loeffler), and one sister (Gerda Ruppricht). Survivors include two sisters: Alice Zuelke and Monika Kolbe (Ernst) of Germany: Christa’s four children, Doris Levinn (Mitch) of East Nassau-NY, Frank Polednik of Clifton-NJ, Eric Polednik (Susan) of Madison-CT and Roy Polednik (Tatyana) of North Carolina and her grandchildren: Ben (Megan), Sandy, & Carrie Levinn; Amanda, Katherine (Adam), Daniel, & Alexander Polednik; and great grandson Eiger Levinn.
Christa was laid to rest in the Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Totowa.
A Memorial Celebration will take place at a future date. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions to a charity of your choice would be preferred and appreciated.
