Betty (nee Silvers) Mickens, 84, of Clifton, passed away Wednesday June 22, 2022. Born in Passaic, Betty resided in Clifton for over 70 years. She had been employed as a book binder with Spiral Binding Co. of Totowa. Betty was a former parishioner of St. Paul R.C. Church in Clifton.
Betty enjoyed swimming especially at the Clifton Pool and then Fairfield Pool. She also enjoyed summer trips vacationing in Wildwood. Betty most enjoyable time was being a grandmother and spending precious time with her loving grandchildren.
Betty was predeceased by her beloved husband, Edward L. Mickens, Jr. Survivors include: her daughter, Chris Mickens-Perara, her husband, John and their children, Luke and Violet; her son, Robert Avato; her brother, Andrew Schiro and his wife, Kathy; and one nephew, Drew Schiro.
Visitation will be held Sunday, June 26, 2022 from 1:00 to 5:00 pm at Bizub-Quinlan Funeral Home, 515 Lexington Ave, Clifton. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to American Heart Association, PO Box 840692, Dallas, TX 75284-0692 (www.heart.org).
