Matthew P. Lashendock

Matthew P. Lashendock, died April 24, 2021.  Matt was born on August 14, 1958 in Newark, New Jersey and attended Clifton High School. 

He also lived in Pennsylvania where he worked with volunteer firefighters in the Poconos.  As a commercial truck driver, he helped remove debris after 911 from NYC.  Matt was always interested in helping others and was known by his neighbors as a kind man who watched after the neighborhood.  Every night after work, he could be found at the local diner, with a group of his local friends.  Matt had a lifelong passion of trains, fishing and supporting first responders.

Matt was proceeded in death by his father, Paul (Jim) Lashendock and Lillian T. (nee Kulick) Lashendock, both who came from large families in Pennsylvania before settling in Clifton NJ.  Matt left behind an Aunt and Uncle and many cousins and other relatives with fond memories of Matthew.  

Matt also leaves behind his former spouse and her three children, Russell, Rita, and Brandon, who Matt loved dearly and took on a fatherly role, caring for as his own.

A graveside Service will be held on Saturday, July 24, 2021 at 10:30 am at St. Mary's Cemetery in Sddle Brook, where he will be laid to rest with his parents. Please meet inside the Outwater Lane gate for procession to the grave. In lieu of flowers, please consider a contribution to the New Jersey Fireman's Home
