Josephine M. (Cvik) Sonye

Josephine M. (nee Cvik) Sonye, 92, of Clifton, passed away on March 22, 2021. 

Born on March 14, 1929 in Passaic, New Jersey to John and Paulina (nee Strupp) Cvik. she resided in Clifton for over sixty years. Mrs. Sonye retired as a Medical Secretary for Dr. Vincent McInerney at St. Joseph’s University Medical Center in Paterson.

Mrs. Sonye was a parishioner of The Catholic Community of St. Brendan and St. George, a member of AARP and the Red Hat Society and the Senior Bowling League.

She was predeceased by her husband, Louis Sonye; and her two sons, Kenneth Sonye and Ronald J. Sonye.

Survivors include: her son, Louis Sonye and his wife, Lynn of Christiansburg, Va.; her four grandchildren: Kristin M. Duarte and her husband, Harold, Brian K. Sonye, Samantha and Melissa Sonye and her two great granddaughters, Makenna and Myla Duarte.

Visitation will be held Wednesday from 3:00-7:00 pm at Bizub-Quinlan Funeral Home, 515 Lexington Ave., Clifton. Funeral Services will be 10AM Thursday at the funeral home followed by interment at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Saddle Brook.
